In my last recipe post, Five Autumn Recipes for Busy Writers, I explained a little about why I am creating recipe posts rather than just focusing on writing. If you haven’t read that post, now is a good time to do so.
In this post, as before, I will link directly to websites where I found recipes. Simply click on the image or recipe title to go to the recipe’s source website.
With no further ado, please welcome recipe number one.

As you probably see, my result was more of a stew. This is easy enough to remedy. Just as a bit of broth. I, however, enjoyed it like this.
This is a hardy dish. The lentils provide a great deal of protein while the barley has a low glycemic index and gives a satisfying chew.

In this recipe, the most time consuming aspect is cutting the vegetables. Everything else is a breeze and the resulting dish it so good, you’ll have to resist going back for seconds.

This is a simple quick bread, which is good for those who can’t get yeast breads to rise … yet, myself included.
Don’t let its simplicity fool you, though. It has a soft, rich texture and the flavor is worth trying even if you haven’t baked before.

This soup has been one of my winter favorites for years, both to make and eat. You get all food groups in this soup: starch from the bread, protein from the beans, and vegetable from the cabbage. A little bit of EVOO is never amiss.

Seriously Soft Molasses Cookies
Mostly, I feel the title speaks for itself. I will mention that I added extra spices. Otherwise, I followed the recipe.
Bonus Recipe!

This is a truly simple dessert, yet looks spectacular. The taste is nothing to sneeze at either. Try it and see for yourself.
